Force Field VR nets $1.15M to create location-based VR experiences

Virtual reality outfit Force Field VR has netted 1 million euros ($1.15 million) to accelerate the development of triple-A, location-based VR experiences.

Force Field is the developer behind Rift-exclusive strategy game Landfall, and Gear VR title Terminal. The studio claims to have another six projects in the pipeline, all of which are in the “final stages” of development.

“Over the past year Force Field managed to acquire a leading position in the rapidly growing VR and AR industry,” said studio co-founder and CEO, Arthur Houtman.

“For the next years our aim is to further extend our lead into two strategic directions: the development of high-end location based VR and the creation of a series of unique new IPs for the home VR market.”
